Hair, hair, hair!

I’ve been looking around at hairstyles. My housemate asked me to do a piece on the whole “hair accessory” thing that seems to be so popular. Between facinators and tiara’s is when I start to get dizzy lol.
I’ve found some beautiful things out there, I personally am all for the fresh flowers look, but a lot of people love the feathers or diamante look (I quite like the sparkles too).
Below are some of the weird, wonderful and beautiful styles I’ve found. I’ll try and get another post done soon with some of my favourite hairstyles and such.
This is an English company, BD-i , based in Preston in England. I’m sure if you got in contact with the girls and boys there they’d be happy to find a way to ship to the states.
There is a lot of selection on the on-line store and they’ve got pieces to suit all sorts of budgets too.
This is one of the more unusual pieces that I picked out and thought was interesting.
This beautiful design is on a large metal comb and intended to be worn at the back of an up-do. The fascinator is still large enough to be seen from the front.
Our lead time for ‘Made to Order’ items is currently 7 to 10 days.
They are able to work different colours into the piece so that it’s completely personal to you and you can always have the feathers dyed to match your exact colour scheme.
Below are some more photos of styles I’ve found. These could easily be adapted for a lot of people, and the accessories changed to match the outfit. I’ve been told that the way to go for a long look is to get fine hair extensions (put in by a professional) to give people or yourself more to work with.

A very simple and elegant accessory really sets this plain up-do off.

I thought this look was very whimsical. It would be beautiful at an outdoor event and not very costly either. Baby’s breath and lace have been used to create this style.

I like this style and the idea behind it, but it hasn’t been well executed. The hair pins are all clearly visible and in my opinion; if you’re going to go to the effort this style takes, then try to hide the pins!!

I love, love, love this! The beading along is so pretty! It’s only added to with the wispy hair falling down from an intricate style. Definitely a maybe for me!

Teehee, is about all I can say over this one, you’d need to be a brave or outgoing bride to wear this style confidently.

Not too taken with this one, not sure about the height of the beehive! I love the ribbons underneath, If I remember I must include some ribbon veils for you all to ogle.

I love the simplicity of this, especially for anyone with shorter hair. This is a really simple kitsch/burlesque look that’s quite striking.

Last but not least is “wow”. This is an extremely intricate design and she looks fabulous for it. You have the style from both the front and back here and it really suits the brides face and frame.
That’s all you’re getting for now :P I’ll be back soon with some more treats for you all!
